STEAMSPA Steam Generators: SIMILAR TO ThermaSol -
COMPARE THERMASOL TO STEAM SPA:
Steamspa and Thermasol are very similar and it is causing confusion as the specs look almost identical.
Steamspa is about 1/2 the price of Thermasol and I had to buy both brands and turn them on side by side and take them apart to find out the real differences they really couldn't answer, or choose not to.
Note: Steamspa has been around since 1997 while Thermasol, the original steam generator company, has been around since the 1950s.
Thermasol is way more expensive and this is due to several features that SteamSpa doesn't have. Also, the lifetime warranty and in home service is something that SteamSpa doesn't have. If the lifetime warranty is important then Thermasol wins. They both have instant start up times with their dual tanks and are the only 2 brands on the market I've found that have this 60 second start.
Another difference in these 2 brands is that SteamSpa has a gravity cleaning flush while Thermasol has a pressurized flush.
SteamSpa will also let people return their generator for a different size if it was too powerful or not powerful enough. Many people buy generators that are too heat intense or don't have enough fluence.
Note: I have access to Steamspa generators that were returned from people buying online that didn't get the right size generator. Call me to see which models are available at the manufacturer.
The SteamSpa generator was slightly more noisy than Thermasol but only by a slim margin. The Thermasol steam doesn't have that pop sound when it comes out. Steamspa did take about 7 seconds longer than the 60 seconds that Thermasol takes.
NOTE: THERMASOL WORKS ON EVERYONES DRAIN LINE. STEAMSPA STEAM GENERATORS ONLY WORK ON CERTAIN PEOPLES DRAINS. LET ME KNOW WHAT TYPE OF DRAIN YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE WILL WORK IN YOUR HOME.
If a Steamspa generator won't work with your drain type it will not work right and have to be returned. About 20% of the people who buy this brand end up having to return it when it doesn't match their drain. The main way the Steamspa works is nearly identical to Thermasol but the best way to compare them would be that Thermasol is more commercially built and Steamspa more residential. If used in a spa or high traffic gym, I would use the Thermasol hands down. The gauge of components are much higher. It is more industrial built but for home use, when using it once or twice a day, commercial grade components really are just over kill.
The Thermasol steam generator makes the vapor (cluster size) much finer especially with their models that are rated up to 1150 square feet. At 100% humidity, at that exact point on my humidity meter, the Thermasol steam feels much lighter and dryer. The SteamSpa steam feel heavier but not as heavy as some other brands I tested. The higher the kW of the generator, the more fluence of the steam until there are 2 steam heads that split it up. On the models that are rated for 84 square feet, such as the smaller 9kw and under models, the steam differences in the 2 brands were slim.
